Z39.50, supported by the Library of Congress, is covered by ANSI/Z39 NISO and ISO 23950 standards. Z39.50 is widely used in libraries and is often embedded in systems and personal library software with bibliographic references.

The material searched can be accessed by contacting the institution directly displayed as owner of the material.
