Word and Text - A Journal of Literary Studies and Linguistics (ISSN 2069-9271), formerly Buletinul Universităţii Petrol-Gaze din Ploieşti, Seria Filologie, is a peer-reviewed international journal. Ranging across critical theory, literary studies and criticism, cultural studies, general and applied linguistics, it publishes original essays and reviews in English and French, both by established scholars and postgraduates, which explore a broad range of current issues in theory and criticism, as well as linguistics, in relation to literature, culture and language.
Starting with vol. V in 2015, Word and Text changed from a biannual to an annual themed publication, scheduled to appear in December.
Both under its present title and in its previous incarnation as a ‘university bulletin’, Word and Text has been acknowledged as a leading academic journal by Romania's National Council for Higher Education Research (CNCSIS) from 2009 onwards. It is currently included in the following databases:
